Welcome to the Wednesday, August 15 Mid-Week Report…here’s what we have in store for you today…
This is a custom Trek SPA bike ridden by renowned Russian hardman
at Paris Roubaix in 2004 and it featured a small elastomer shock (borrowed from Klein Bicycles which Trek owned) in the seatstay along with a Project One flame paint job.
Ever since the release of our Bottle Relocation and Accessory Devices, riders have been asking for a lighter, lower-profile way to re-position bottle cages. And, like you, when we think about bottle cages we think of King Cage built by Ron Andrews. Legendary for their strength, lower-profile way to re-position bottle cages. And Titanium Bar Stock , and durability, King’s US-made stainless steel and titanium cages are bought once and for ridden decades. So we made the call to do a collaboration.
The result is the Wolf Tooth Morse Cage. Named for its dot-dash-dot-dash mounting pattern, the Morse Cage base plate offers four positions across 32mm of vertical adjustment, capturing one mounting bolt in every position to lock in the perfect position. Handcrafted by King Cage in Durango, Colorado, the Morse Cage will never mar your bottles, can be bent back into shape if damaged, and are available now in both titanium and stainless steel. The Morse cage has precision-cut four-position bases with 32mm of total adjustment.

Moments before we pushed the “publish” button for this week’s MWR the UPS truck delivered our long-awaited Cannondale System Six aero road test bike. The first things we noticed? The stock Power2Max power meter is cool, but the skimpy 23mm tires and narrow (38cm top) handlebars not so much.
We were invited to Zwift headquarters in Long Beach, Ca for a tour of their new offices and a sneak peak of what the company is rolling out next. The developers were hard at work designing new routes and fixing bugs to meet the needs of the user increase come trainer season. We got an up-close view of the Innsbruck world championship course and the chance to experience the new workout mode.
