in India. The main highlights of the smartphone include its bezel-less display with 91.24 percent screen-to-body ratio without any notch on top, a pop-up selfie camera that slides up and down whenever required, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The Vivo NEX comes with the price tag of Rs. Rs. 44,990 and will be available for pre-orders starting today and will be available for purchase starting July 21 from Amazon India, company’s online store and their offline retail stores along with selected partners. . For offline, it will be available . it comes in only Black colour option.
As for the launch offers, Amazon is offering an extra Rs. 5,000 off on exchange and No cost EMI for up to 12 months. The company is also offering GB data from Reliance Jio and one-time free screen replacement warranty. Furthermore, there is an assured buyback offer and cashback on HDFC credit and debit cards to all customers who pre-order.
It sports a Super AMOLED screen with ultra-narrow 1.71 mm bezels on the sides, 2.16mm on the top and a 91.24% screen-to-body ratio. One of the most interesting new feature is the Screen SoundCasting technology. It replaces the earpiece from the front and vibrates the screen through a micro-vibration unit to generate the sound that promises better bass and softer treble. It uses ray data compensation algorithm that hides the light sensor at the bottom of the screen, thanks to an innovative design. The micro-slit infrared sensor is also hidden at the top of the screen. The pop-up camera automatically rises up when you open the camera app.
The company has also optimized its system-level SDK with the partnership of Tencent, NetEase and Unreal for the best gaming experience with Game Mode 4.0. The handsets also include the Jovi AI assistant, that boasts of features such as NLU (natural language understanding), ASR (automatic speech recognition), emotion detection, text-to-speech, and others. There is a dedicated Jovi AI assistant button. It also features 7.1-channel 3D audio.
The NEX also uses an in-display fingerprint sensor, and the company says that the third-generation screen fingerprint technology, is smaller, and more powerful offering 50% better accuracy and the unlocking speed is increased by 10% compared to the predecessor.
The smartphone runs on Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. It sports a 6.59” full-HD+ (1080×2316 pixels) Super AMOLED 19.3:9 display with 91.24 percent screen-to-body ratio and DCI-P3 color gamut. The smartphone is powered by a 2.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 630 GPU. It offers 8GB of RAM with the option of 128GB internal storage.
For photography, the Vivo NEX Comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup with a combination of a 12MP Sony IMX363 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, dual-core pixels and 4-axis OIS and a 5MP secondary sensor f/2.4 aperture. On the front, it has an 8MP pop-up camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calls.
The Vivo NEX is fuelled by a 4000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging technology. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, GPS + GLONASS, USB 2.0 port with OTG support. It measures 162x77x7.98mm and weighs 199 grams.
