The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Limited Edition Is Now Up For Pre-Order In Europe
limited edition that was revealed shortly after this week's Nintendo Direct? Well, you can now pre-order it directly from the Nintendo UK store.
Containing a copy of the game, a Nintendo GameCube Controller - Super Smash Bros. edition, and a Nintendo GameCube Controller adapter - as well as a gorgeous looking box, we might add - this bundle will no doubt excite the biggest Smash Bros. fans out there, desperately calling to them and their wallets from its distant online store listing. If you're wanting to grab a copy, head to the link below:

The bundle will set you back £89.99, and a new steelbook case has also been revealed. You can choose to purchase the game and its steelbook separately, without all the extra bits,
instead. This option costs £59.99. Also, for anyone wondering, the large roster image on the box has now been updated to reflect the new reveals, too. Lovely!
Will you be ordering any of these? Let us know with a comment down below.
Ryan’s that annoying kind of guy in multiplayer games - you know the one, the kind of person that throws a temper tantrum if he can’t be Yoshi in Mario Kart or gets stuck with the controller with the dodgy button. Yeah, that kind.
That steel book is sweet. I've always loved my Metroid Prime Trilogy Steelbook. One of the coolest cases ever.
That...that is bloody gorgeous...dammit. Why no poster tho. I mean...we ALL want a poster right?
Does the Nintendo store take money now or on despatch?
The temptation is there, but I'm somehow resisting the urge to buy it.
I keep checking Amazon for the US version...nothing yet.
Hoping for a US steelbook release. I don't need all the other stuff but this game is definitely steelbook-worthy.
Saves a few quid too instead of ordering the game, controller and adapter on their own, even if you compare Smash's £50 price on other sites.
And assuming of course, you get an order in before they're all snapped up....
agreed, getting the game digital and don't care about GC controllers but would kill to have that poster!!
Anybody feel like translating their feelings on those currency equivalents for me? 89,$114, seems like a decent price for the bundle, but 59, $76, seems like a lot for the game, even with the steelbook. The other day I had guessed $119.99 in the US for the bundle if ti comes here, the game would be $59.99 b/c that's what games cost here. Even with a steelbook they wouldn't make it$69.99.
Still expecting a Nintneod Direct in September where they announce a Switch bundle. I do realize most of us here have a Switch, but I'm still expecting a bundle anyway.
(In case anyone doesn’t know; you can also purchase the game + steelbook for £59.99 from Nintendo UK. Be quick...)
The steelbook is pretty cool, but even if this is released in North America I will probably pass. I already have plenty of GameCube controllers and an official adapter for the Wii U. I have bought way too many special editions for games and promptly forgotten the included extras. I’m happy with the standard game.
And I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t be stupid enough to leak anything like this, but has anybody examined the art on the box to see if the remaining new characters might be on there?
It’s a great looking box, and would probably look good on display, but not sure if it’s worth the money as I already have the Wii U adapter with 4 Smash4 Gamecube controllers.

Edit: pre-ordered mine, came to post the link and clicked again to check: all gone!
This is great. The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe steelbook case looked great but we didn’t get it here in the uk. Now this I will get
Must have been a pain to make multiple versions of the artwork without certain characters. I mean, they have to add Shantae, Shovel Knight, Waluigi and Dixie yet.
Even if this does come to the USA, as much as I want that box to display, I’ll have to pass. I’ve already preordered the game and GameCube adapter from Amazon, and don’t need the extra packaging.

I am shocked that there is no article about Doom Eternal coming to Switch.

Cheaper than I was expecting, but sadly still too pricey for me lol.
uh? You do know it’s a digital painting and the characters are just layers... right?
most Europeans have given up on the argument because the cost to import negates the savings on the game. Don't forget though that the US price doesn't include tax, the UK price does. Unless I'm mistaken that means your $60 is around $66.
Duh - it’d still be a pain to make multiple versions and move them around for whoever had to do it, though.
It's a nice edition, and at first glance it seems like good enough value for the game and accessories.

I don't need the adapter or any more Gamecube controllers though, maybe a steelbook edition if they do that. Rate Date Smash Or Pass , maybe a steelbook edition if they do that.
Pretty much. I thought most games there were 39.99 so 59.99 looked like a lot and 89.99 looked like a little in comparison for what you get, so I think the stand alone game and the bundle prices taken together confused me. Either one by itself I probably wouldn't have given it much thought.
As I said earlier, in my head that bundle would be $120 US - $60 game, $20 for the adaptor, $40 for the controller - so 89 looked good. But the game alone I know will be $60, so 60 on your end makes that bundle look like a steal while the game alone looks like an exchange rate rip-off.
Google gives me the currency exchange rates no problem, but it couldn't tell me how people feel about the bundle vs game prices.
its better to play smash with a ngc controller. reason?
I swear if Nintendo doesn’t release this steel book in their largest foreign market, they are fools.
ah I see what you mean. In this case, the bundle vs game, it's a steal... For the moment.
Nintendo typically have 3 tiers of pricing in the UK: 40, 50 & 60 depending on the game. Zelda and Mario (and now smash) are the only ones that command the highest price.
So 30 extra for a controller (normally 25) and an adapter (19) is a bargain.
Where it gets confusing is this is from Nintendo directly, Rate Date Smash Or Pass
To make things more confusing is that if nintendo offer the limited edition to anyone else, it'll be cheaper than what Nintendo are selling it for (unless its an exclusive to GAME but that's a whole different story). If/when this happens, I cancel the order directly and go elsewhere.
Seriously, I've only ordered a couple of amiibo from nintendo directly. Everything else is amazon or another retailer but I have a tonne of cancelled orders.
In Germany it is 99,99 € on Amazon and other retailers like MediaMarkt.
Well I've obviously been confused from the get go, but thanks for trying to help me out.
I do think the UK does have a bit more variety in AAA game prices, it's rare that a disc game in the US isn't $60. I think possibly Captain Toad on Wii U was $40, maybe DKCTF was $50, now $60 on Switch. Crash and Spyro trilogies are $40. My point is it's rare enough when a game isn't $60 that I know about it. And the Nintneod NY store doesn't sell online in the US, so we dont' have that confusion either. Gamestop is the equivalent of GAME getting exclusives - see Xenoblade Chronicles - but the $60 price remains the same.
I'm fully expecting SSBU the game for $60, but if we get that bundle no way it's less than $99.99. If it's only $89.99 they might as well not even bother selling the game alone, people can just buy it digitally for $60. First off course the US has to get it, Reggie usually takes a couple of weeks to get his act together.
Pre-ordered as soon as i got the email to say it was available
Already preordered the adapter so canceled that and grabbed one. Works out alright price wise for me but agree it's not really special, especially as you can get the game & steelbook anyway.
Only thing is I could only choose free delivery so expecting to recieve it 1-2 weeks later than if I bought from another retailer lol
Got the Smash GameCube controller and the adapter for 10$ each at Wal-Mart years ago. Maybe I was lucky... Just the game for me.
Honestly cheaper than I was expecting. Sold. I just hope it arrives on launch day otherwise I might just be pathetic enough to buy it digitally as well.
Already have a GC controller and adapter, not interested in steelbooks. Definitely gonna get this digitally. I want this game available immediately to me at all times.
Hopefully we’ll get eventually get a soundtrack set.
Pre-ordered. But I hope I can do the same at GAME so I can go to the midnight launch

: Joy-Con do not seem to be much sturdier either, which isn't helped by people applying unnecessary force to analog sticks.
Already had the adapter and controller ordered so i've cancelled those and ordered this.
Got the just the game on pre order from amazon UK for £41.99, being in guernsey it takes off VAT so Sorry Nintendo store. Also normally get it a day earlier from amazon, and normally gets lost if ordered from Nintendo Store
Any news on an Australian release yet? One source says that it's confirmed to not come to Australia.
Pre-orders are now sold out on the Nintendo UK Store! Looks like this is gonna be a popular bundle, glad i got mine ordered as soon as it went live
