Upcoming concerts feature a local string band and an indie-soul-folk group from western Maine. Ruff Sawn Prices

Beginning July 28, the Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington Railway Museum in Alna is hosting a concert series featuring acoustic musicians from Maine. The series, the first that the museum has offered, is based on public concerts that the railway held during the early 20th century. People from throughout the Sheepscot Valley would travel by narrow gauge railway to the railway’s own bandstand on the shore of China Lake.

Ruff Sawn Prices

Ruff Sawn Prices , who will perform traditional American music, old time country and blues, some jazz standards and Celtic reels and jigs.

The Aug. 25 concert features Rough Sawn, a local string band composed of farmers and carpenters. They perform covers of classic country, bluegrass Ruff Sawn Prices , folk and Western swing.

The Sept. 8 concert features indie-soul-folk band GoldenOak led by siblings Zak and Lena Kendall. Originally

from the Sandy River Valley in Western Maine and now based in Portland, they began performing and writing together in 2014. Trains for each concert leave at 5 p.m. from Sheepscot station and return at 7:30 p.m. Parking and round-trip train fare are included in the price of the ticket. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 on day of the event, and only 100 tickets will be sold for each concert.
