RRB (Railway Recruitment Board) is conducting ALP exam from 9th to 31st August 2018.It is time to round out your preparation. Amidst revising key concepts and attempting mocks, it's important that you don't forget to devise a test-taking strategy.
NEW DELHI: RRB (Railway Recruitment Board) is conducting ALP exam from 9th to 31st August 2018.It is time to round out your preparation. Amidst revising key concepts and attempting mocks, it's important that you don't forget to devise a test-taking strategy.
Having an effective test-taking strategy in place is crucial to your performance in the actual exam. It increases your level of preparedness and boosts your confidence in the face of complex questions. Focus on detailed topic and subject-wise strategies to improve your performance in the exam.
Starting with the exam pattern of RRB ALP Exam, it will be based on 4 stages as follows:
- First Stage CBT is only qualifying in nature. Marks of this part won't be included in the final merit list.
- Candidates who will qualify the Part A will be eligible to appear for Part B.

- The paper will be multiple choice objective type and bilingual (Hindi/English). Sc Trade Exam

- There will be a negative marking of 1/3 rd marks. Sc Trade Exam
- Minimum number of marks to qualify category wise are as below:

This is evident from above, that we have to only qualify the First Stage of the exam. The focus should be to attempt the maximum part of the subject that you are strong in. Sc Trade Exam
Second Stage CBT will be conducted in 2 parts - Part A and part B. Both parts will be conducted on the same day.
Part B of Second Stage CBT is qualifying in nature.
- Qualifying marks for Part B are 35%, irrespective of category.
- Only those candidates who will qualify Second Stage CBT will be eligible for Computer Based Aptitude Test.
- There is a negative marking of 1/3 rd in Second Stage CBT as well.
- There is no negative marking in the Computer Based Aptitude Test.
- In the final score, 70% weightage will be of Part A of Second stage CBT and 30% of Computer Based Aptitude Test.
Now Part A of Second Stage CBT is the test that will decide your final selection. The more you will score here, more will be the chances of your selection. General Awareness and Current Affairs will be the major part of this test. Mathematics and reasoning will be of easy level.
Part B of Second Stage, that may haunt you a bit, because of the technical trade exam, is qualifying in nature. Focus on the basics and concepts you have learned during your technical education, because you have to just qualify this exam with only 35% of the marks.
