MANSFIELD -- The Jared Mansfield Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution earned six certificates at the recent OSDAR Fall Fun Fair in Columbus.

The Fall Fun Fair was held at the Columbus Marriott Northwest Hotel, Dublin, Ohio. Members attending were Regent Joyce Vanatter and Pat Jennings.

OSDAR presented Jared Mansfield Chapter with Chapter Achievement Award, Level 1.

Public Relations and Media Committee East Central Division - certificate for 1st Place – for the Chapter Newsletter. 

Public Relations and Media Committee National - certificate for 3rd Place for the Chapter Newsletter.

Public Relations and Media Committee East Central Division - certificate for 2nd Place – for Print Coverage. 

DAR Genealogy Preservation Committee presented Joyce Vanatter a certificate for Outstanding Service as a Supporting Documentation Volunteer.

Linage Research Committee presented Laverne Piatt with a certificate for Extraordinary Service Lineage Research Lookup Board.

The first chapter meeting of the 2018-2019 season will be held on Friday, Sept. 14 at 1 p.m. at the Ohio Genealogical Society (OGS) 611 State Route 97 W. Bellville, Ohio. Regent Joyce Vanatter will present a program on Wreaths Across America and a fun DAR Trivia.

DAR is dedicated to historical preservation, promotion of education and patriotic endeavors. Anyone interested in joining the DAR, please call the Chapter Regent at 941-224-4888

Richland County Veterans to honor Madison grad Topper

The Richland County Joint Veterans Counsel has announced an American flag will be raised on Thursday, Aug 30, 2018 in front of the Richland County courthouse at 6 p.m. to honor deceased Richland County U.S. Air Force Veteran Neil C. Topper.
