Previously tenured with Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) for close to 15 years, and most recently senior vice president at PSA International, Ying Yuan Ng has taken up a role as chief learning officer at DBS Bank. She continues to be based in Singapore, where she is tasked with the learning and leadership agenda. Previously, at EDB, she held a number of successive roles, with the most recent one being executive director of human resources and organisation development.
Gary Lee moves to Sivantos Group as global head for L&OD
Previously serving as chief HR specialist for global talent development and group organisational development at Grundfos, Gary Lee has taken on the role of global head of leadership and organisational development at Sivantos Group, effective January 2018. In this new role, Lee is based in Sivantos Group’s global HQ in Singapore and will report to the CHRO.
“For this year, I will be working on designing and implementing a global leadership framework, reviewing the learning and development structure and building sustainable culture initiatives across all Sivantos companies,” Lee told
Ilja Rijnen is now regional HR director, Emerging Asia, Beam Suntory
Effective December 2017, Ilja Rijnen has joined Beam Suntory as HR director for Emerging Asia. Based in Singapore, as part of the Emerging Asia Leadership Team, he reports to the regional president based in Singapore and the VP of international human resources based in Madrid, Spain. In his role, Rijnen manages a team of 10 HR professionals has HR oversight and management for the Emerging Asia region covering all of Asia apart from Japan and India.
, he reveals his priorities include driving the right HR strategy and people focus in the fast-growing region; aligning HR across the region and to the global HR strategy; developing an EVP to attract and retain the right talent in high-growth markets; and strategic workforce planning. [
After spending close to eight years with household technology firm, Dyson, Rohit Kumar has accepted a new role at food major General Mills as talent director – Asia, where he continues to be based in Singapore. He brings close to 14 years of experience in HR to the role, and over 10 years in talent and organisation development.
Joining Dyson as head of L&D for Southeast Asia in April 2010, Kumar moved up the ranks to HR business partner by July 2013, and was most recently HR business partnering lead since February 2015, where he supported the operations and business support functions across Singapore, Malaysia and UK.
Robert Chessen is SVP of resources, APAC at Radisson Hotel Group
An accomplished business executive and leader, Robert Chessen has been promoted to senior vice-president of resources for APAC at Radisson Hotel Group, up from his post as vice-president of human resources for APAC at Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.

Luxury watch retailer The Hour Glass fills regional L&D role
Based in Singapore, Victor Tng is now regional learning and development manager, at The Hour Glass; moving over from his past role as head of learning development at Dairy Farm Singapore. He has previously been associated with a number of hotel and hospitality sector majors, such as Westin Hotels & Resorts, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, and Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
Marc Chin departs Lumesse for cloud communication provider Nexmo
It has been confirmed that Marc Chin has departed Lumesse and joined Nexmo – the Vonage API Platform as customer success manager, SEA. He brings a decade of values and experiences to the emerging leader in the $100bn cloud communication and telecom markets, as part of Nexmo’s Asia expansion. Previously, he has held various positions with Sony, StepStone, Hewlett-Packard, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and most recently with Lumesse as principal solutions consultant.
Crayon expands leadership team with key hires in Southeast Asia
IT advisory firm, Crayon, has made a number of appointments to grow the business in Asia Pacific. James Ang has been appointed general manager, Crayon Singapore and cloud director, Asia Pacific. An industry veteran who is also a startup mentor and angel investor, he hails previously from Microsoft. Jerry J. Bongco has joined as general manager, Crayon Philippines, bringing over 22 years’ experience across both customers and channel partners.
Keith Samuel joins as general manager, Crayon Sri Lanka and new markets, bringing over 20 years of senior leadership experience in the IT industry, being the former CEO of Spusht Technologies in UAE. Meanwhile, Marrian Lontoc will head up Crayon’s cloud desk operations in the Southeast Asia region, with the mandate to collaborate with customers and partners as they transit to the cloud.
All these leaders will report to Florent Bellahsene, vice president for Crayon in the Asia Pacific region, who commented: “The addition of these four senior personnel to Crayon’s business in Asia Pacific comes at the perfect time, given how digitisation is one of the biggest transformative industry shifts that we are seeing here in the region.”
Charis Tan joins GrabJobs team as customer success manager in Singapore
Joining the mobile jobs marketplace GrabJobs as customer success manager, Charis Tan moves over from Kognity where she was sales development representative – Asia Pacific. Prior to that in fact, she was working with GrabJobs as business development manager for over a year.
Team AXA secures Samreen Jabeen for digital engagement
Samreen Jabeen has been recruited by multinational insurance firm, AXA, as senior specialist, digital engagement (content strategy). In her new role, she will be focusing on the development and strategic management of AXA’s content hub, and pushing the boundaries for producing creative content, as told to

Infor promotes Helen Masters to SVP and GM, Asia Pacific
to senior vice president and general manager, Asia-Pacific. Based in the company’s regional hub in Singapore, Masters will be responsible for Infor’s business across ASEAN, Australia, Greater China, Korea, and New Zealand.
Stephan Scholl, president of Infor, said: “The company is poised for accelerated growth in Asia-Pacific, and Helen Masters has proven herself as the right leader to deliver this growth,” noting that she is the first woman leader to lead a major region at Infor.
Masters commented: “I am excited to lead Asia-Pacific, a region that continues to be a growth engine for the global economy. We are confident that organisations in the region will be able to capture the full benefits and tremendous business advantages that Infor innovation and the cloud has to offer.”
